Our Workshops
What we do:
Architecture Kids runs dynamic workshops that inspire creativity and free-thinking among students through engaging project-based briefs. Each programme of workshops focuses on a project relevant to the students, encouraging them to explore their ideas without prescriptive outcomes. This process-driven approach allows participants to develop unique solutions, fostering innovation and problem-solving skills. By offering guidance and opening up suggestions, the workshops create an environment where students can feel empowered to experiment and express their creativity. The results are invariably impressive and surprising, showcasing the potential of young minds when given the freedom and resources to follow their own minds.
What are the benefits for schools?
The Architecture Kids workshops can be tailored to integrate with areas of the National Curriculum. Architecture is relevant to all school subjects which makes it ideal to help build positive relationships between students and their academic studies. Each student invariably finds personal and relevant connections between their creative work and school subjects they like. Our workshops are most effective when we can unlock positive engagement between students and less favoured subjects . We encourage students to explore design and be surprised by what they can find.
What are the benefits for students?
Importantly it’s a break from traditional textbook-based studies. Students are encouraged to experiment with design in a supportive environment with regular opportunities for review and improve of their ideas. It’s a hands on process, in which students define their own goals within a learning framework. Our workshops helps their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, their sense of ownership and accomplishment, and generally boosts confidence. Not without significance, the hands-on work also helps develop the fine motor skills in their hands.
About Us
Our vision is to offer every child, without discrimination, the opportunity to express themselves freely through creative design. We aim to build self-confidence and empower children and young people by recognising their importance as valued individuals in the world around them.
