Making Dens
Children at Furzedown Primary School, London engaged in an exciting project designing and building dens, allowing them to express their thoughts and values creatively. Using reclaimed materials like garden canes, sheets, cardboard carpet tubes and old estate agents boards they experimented with different structures to understand import relationships between shape and stability. This hands-on experience was significant as it bridged artistic and technical skills, enhancing their problem-solving and spatial design capabilities. Facilitated by professional architects, the project provided a platform for the children to achieve personal goals and develop a deeper appreciation for architecture and design.
