YouScape

Students from Graveney School participated in the international design competition for the London Festival of Architecture. Responding to the brief of ‘empowering platforms’ they developed 'YouScape', an urban garden library for the Westminster north bank of the River Thames. This project empowered students to express their vision of an inclusive, accessible space that reflects their values as Londoners future decision makers. The process included site investigation, brainstorming sessions for design and material selection.  The workshops were assisted by professional consultants and specialist fabricators.  The student’s proposals for a relaxing and calming oasis in the centre of London’s bustle, free from modern technologies, surprised everyone.
